Expect layoffs and more cuts in the Manalapan-Englishtown school district

The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District has introduced a $79.6 million tentative spending plan that includes more than 22 layoffs and staff reductions in the coming school year, and officials say there are more cuts to come. The state will slash about $3 million in aid to the district, from $21Million to $18 million, according to the Business Administrator. The district has set a public meeting tomorrow to adjust its financial plan accordingly.
