New Jersey residents support health care reform but are unhappy with current bill

Most state residents say the nation's health care system needs to be reformed, but a new poll finds they've soured on the proposal now before Congress. The Rutgers-Eagleton Poll finds 81 percent of respondents wanting changes to the health care system, while 17 percent believe the current system works well enough. But only 22 percent say Congress should pass the current reform proposals, while 68 percent want lawmakers to start over.
The telephone poll of 953 New Jersey adults was conducted from Feb. 19-22 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.
