Fire budget was defeated and now officials cut it in Plumsted
Just last month voters defeated the Plumsted fire district budget by a 2 to 1 margin. Now the Township Committee has trimmed $5,000 from that spending plan. Plumsted officials say the compromise budget will increase the fire district tax rate to an annual cost of about $19 for the owner of a home assessed at $390,000, the township average.
