Weekend races with higher purses proposed for Monmouth Park
Monmouth Park will have a compacted, weekend-oriented schedule featuring high average purses this season. Its part of the Christie administration’s proposal to both drum up business and slash operating expenses at the track in Oceanport. State officials and racing industry leaders reached a deal last night to try the new format.
