Automobile crashes keep police busy in Toms River

A Toms River teenager is in critical condition, following a one-car crash over the weekend. Police say 18-year old Vlastimil Vrskovy was driving around 1am Saturday on Old Freehold Road, when his car went off the road, struck a fire hydrant and knocked down a utility pole that hit a large tree. The car ended up just north of Dayna Court. While detouring traffic around that accident, township police arrested 25-year old Debra Mercury of Beachwood for DWI. Mercury had driven her car over flares and past a marked patrol unit. In a separate one-car crash early Saturday, on Church Road, Toms River Police charged 19-year old Lanette Dotoli with DWI.
